Ants are slowly eating away my walls and floor. I vacuum several hundred up rather regularly (it's kind of fun), and suggested that they are getting a bit testy and will probably kill me in my sleep one night. One person wrote me a poem as a pre-mortem funeral dedication (thanks Alydia!) :

yeah, my apartment and grandma's house are getting invaded by japenese beetles. maybe bugs are plotting to take out the entire Powers family. oh well. we'll be famous then...maybe i'll write a book on it and get rich and quit my job. just kidding. who teaches your creative writing class? is it mrs. hicks?
